Nos yfory am 7 o'r gloch byddaf yn cymryd rhan yn lansiad taflen twristiaeth newydd ar gyfer y Blaenau yn Bistro Moelwyn.
Mae'r daflen sydd yn ffrwyth llafur y Siambr Fasnach o dan arweiniad ei Cadeirydd, Roger Clear yn ddeniadol ac ymarferol ac yn sicr o fod o gymorth i dywus ymwelwyr i'r dref o amgylch y Stryd Fawr.
Bydd y lansiad hefyd yn gyfle i fusnesau lleol, gymdeithasu a rhannu syniadau a ninnau ar ddechrau tymor twristiaeth, dylai yn ol y rhagolygon fod yn un weddol llwyddiannus...chwbwl 'da ni iso rawn ydi 'chydig o haul!
Tomorrow at 7pm at Bistro Moelwyn, I shall be taking part in the launch of a new tourism leaflet for Blaenau at Bistro Moelwyn.
The leaflet which is the fruits of labour of the Chamber of Commerce and in particular their Chair, Roger Clear is both attractive and practical and will ceratinly help guide tourists around the High Street once they arrive in Blaenau.
The launch will also be an opportunity for local businesses to socialise and share ideas at the beginning of the tourist season which by all accounts be quite succesful...all we need now is a little bit of sunshine!

Michael Martin, scapegoat? YES - MP's principald? NO

3 Centuries since the last speaker of the House of Commons was forced out of office...today we saw the current incumbant announce his resignation from the role as well as resigning as a Member of Parliament.
Michael Martin or "Gorbals Mick" as he is known does not strike me as the most likeable of characters, however I feel that he has become a scapegoat not only for the systematic failure of Parliement to manage its own affairs but also for the blatent dishonesty of a number of MP's who quite frankly should be put behind bars for stealing from you and I!
What strikes me about today's events is that some MP's think that this will now bring this sorry matter to an end!
I wouldn't bank on it...the ill feeling that this has created has done irreperable damage to the already starined relationship between politicians and the public and the only way that a smidgeon of faith can be restored into politics is that Gordon Brown (yes that principald son of the Mans) does the honourable thing and calls a General Election before Parliement breaks up for the summer recess...anything else will only widen the chasm between the Westminister village, its inhabitants and the rest of the Country...if he does'nt do it...then every MP should resign on a point of principal so that an election can be held that way...those who have done no wrong, like I have said in the past would have nothing to fear...the ones who have lied, cheated and stolen, will I imagine, get their just desserts.

Torri addewid? - Broken promise?
Yn ystod yr Etholiadau i Gyngor Tref Ffestiniog llynedd mi ddaru grwp lleol o'r enw Llechen Lan ennill rheolaeth ar y Cyngor Tref, oedd hyn yn ol hwy yn dilyn flynyddoedd o gecru ar y Cyngor oedd wedi dwyn anfri ar y dref.
Un o'u addewidion yn ystod yr ymgyrch oedd i beidio cyfethol aelodau i'r Cyngor gan fod oleiaf 3-4 o aelodau wedi cael eu cyfethol i'r Cyngor blaenorol.
Gwir ydi dweud hyd at tua 3 mis yn ol roedd pethau dal chydig yn anodd ar y Cyngor ond mae popeth i weld wedi setlo i lawr yn iawn rwan.
Neithiwr, welwyd y Cyngor yn cyffethol aelod newydd ac yn wir mae'r person sydd wedi chael ei chyfethol yn wraig dwi'n credu wneith gyfraniad da a chlodwiw i'r Cyngor gan ei bod esioes wedi gwneud gwaith da iawn o fewn ei chymuned ac dwi'n edrych ymlaen i gydweithio gyda hi - digwydd bod roeddym yn yr ysgol ar yr un adeg hefyd.
Serch hynny be oedd yn synnu fi oedd y ffaith mai un o addewidion Llechen Lan i'r etholwyr oedd na fyddent byth yn cyfethol neb i'r Cyngor...Onid rhyfedd felly oedd gweld pob un o'u aelodau oedd yn bresennol neithiwr yn torri'r addewid hwnnw?
During last year's elections to Ffestiniog Town Council a local group, Llechen Lan (Clean Slate) won a majority on the Town Council, this was after, according to them, a number of years of in-fighting on the Council.
One of Llechen Lan's Election pledges was not to co-opt members to the Council as in their view that was undemocratic and the fact that 3-4 members of the previous Council had been chosen in this way was not viewed as being good by them.
It is true to say that up to about 3 months ago things had been strained on the Council however things seem to be going well now.
Last night saw the Council co-opt a new member. Someone who has done a lot of good work in her community and who I am sure will be a good member of the Council as well as being someone I'll be more than happy to work with as we were in school together.
However what surprised me was that one of Llechen Lan's pledges to electors was that they would not co-opt anybody on to the Council...is'nt it strange how every one of their members present at last night's meeting broke that promise without batting an eyelid?

Gwnewch y peth iawn - Do the right thing
Gyda a mwy a mwy o engreifftau gwbwl gwarthus yn dod i'r golwg o sut mae rhai Aelodau Seneddol wedi bod yn cam ddefnyddio ac hawlio treuliau am pob math o bethau o fwyd ci, siocledi Kit-Kats, trwsio eu pyllau nofio ac thalu morgeisi ar sawl eiddo ac yna eu gwerthu am elw sylweddol, mae hygrededd a pharch tuag ac atynt wedi cyrraedd ei lefel isaf erioed.
Os bydd erioed amser i bleidiau llai gyda'i gwreiddiau'n ddwfn mewn cymunedau, fel Llais Gwynedd a Llais y Pobol a'u tebyg i wneud safiad, rwan ydi hynny...dwi'n gweld y llanast yma ynghyd a methianau y prif bleidiau mewn cyn gymaint o feusydd dadrithio pobol cyn gymaint fel bydd pleidaiu eraill yn gallu mantesio - pryder mawr gyda hynny ac fe welwn i hynny yn etholiadu i Senedd Ewrop fydd y BNP yn manteisio mewn rhai ardaloedd.
Amser a ddengys be ddigwyddith, serch hynny dwi'n teimlo erbyn hyn y dylai pob Aelod Seneddol sefyll i lawr a dylid cael Etholiad Cyffredinol cyn diwedd Gorffennaf - bydd y rhai hynny sydd wedi gwenud eu gwaith yn gydwybodol ac heb godro'r system yn cael eu ail hethol dybiwn i ond fyddai'r gweddill ohonynt(y diawliad di-egwyddor) allan ar eu pennau!
Sgwn i faint ohonynt sydd gan yr asgwrn cefn a'r egwyddorion i wneud safiad o'r fath?
With more and more examples of the scandelous and unscrupioulous behaviour of MP's coming to light with their expense claims for everything from dog food, Kit-Kat chocolate bars, repairing their swimming pools to paying the mortgage on second homes that they sold on for massive profits and personnal gain, the creadibliity and respect for politicians has reached an all time low.
If ever there was a need for smaller parties with their roots firmly planted in communities like Llais Gwynedd and Peoples Voice and their similar to make a stand now is that time. I see that this scandal along with the failure of the main political parties in so many areas providing electors with a real choice and that is the smaler parties - however the downside to this is that the BNP can and will unfortunately benefit as I am sure will happen in ceratin parts of the country and in the forthcoming European Elections.
Time will tell what will happen, however I believe that the situation is now so bad, that every MP should stand down and that a General Election should be called before the end of July - the one's who have worked hard and conciensously, one would imagine would be re-elected and those who have conned us all and been totally dishonest will be kicked out for good!
I wonder how many of them have the backbone and principals to make such a stand?

Buddigoliaeth i ddemocratiaeth - Victory for Democracy
Yng nghyfarfod blynyddol Cyngor Gwynedd dydd Iau, cafwyd trfodaeth ynglyn a diwygio cyfansoddiad y Cyngor, gyda Uwch Swyddogion y Cyngor ac arweinyddiaeth y grwp mwyaf ar y Cyngor, Plaid Cymru yn cymeradwyo codi y nifer o gynghorwyr sydd ei angen er mwyn cyfawryddo materion ger bron y Cyngor llawn o 15 i 25 gyda'r Swyddog Monitro, Prif Weithredwr ac arweinydd y Cyngor efo "vito" i ganiatau y materion i fynd ger bron a'i pheidio.
Dwi'n falch o ddweud collwyd y bleidlais ac fe welwyd rhwyg o fewn grwp y Blaid ar y mater, gyda tua 6 ohonynt yn pleidleisio gyda gweddill y Cyngor i wrthwynebu'r syniad twp oedd ger bron...roedd gweld rhai aelodau yn pleidlesio o blaid y cynnig fel gwylio twrcwns yn pleidleiso dros y Nadolig!...Erbyn hyn, fedrai ddim cymryd rhai o Cynghorwyr y Blaid o ddifri, diolch i'r drefn nad ydyn i gyd yn unigolion hunain bwysig, di-deimlad a di-ysturlon o eraill.
At Gwynedd Council's AGM on Thursday there was a discussion regarding proposed amendments to the Council's constitution. The Council's Chief Officers, supported by the leaders of the largest group on the Council, Plaid Cymru wanted to raise the number of Councillors required to referr a matter up to full council from 15 to 25 as well as allowing the Chief Exec, Legal Officer and Council Leader to have a vito to decide whether or not a matter was worthy of going forward - to all extent and purposes, denying elected members their democratic right.
Thank heavens, that there was a split in the Plaid ranks and that at least 6 of their members voted with the rest of the Council against this stupid idea.
Watching the remeinder of the Plaid group voting lke lemmings in favour of such a proposterous notion, reminded me of of the saying "Turkey's voting for Christmas!". The little repsect that I have for some of their leaders on the Council is quickly dissapearing, however there are some very good people in their midst and they are not all out of touch, self centred, hard faced and uncompromising...at least 6 of them proved that on Thursday.

Anti Jini
P'nawn Llun diwethaf collodd fy mam ei chwaer, Mrs Jenny Lloyd Jones, Ty'r Ysgol Llangwm ar ol salwch byr.
Roedd Anti Jini yn ddynes addfwyn, chadarn a ffeind. Dwi'n cofio treulio llawer i benwythnos a gwyliau'r haf yn Llangwm gyda fy nghefndryd, Iwan ac Arwel tra'n blentyn ac yn mynd o dan draed Yncl Irwyn wrth iddo fynd o gwmpas i dendio i'r llysiau a ffrwythau feddai ef yn tyfu yn yr ardd tu ol i dy'r ysgol...ac Anti Jini yno yn cadw golwg drostom ni i gyd.
Dwi'n cofio hefyd cael mynd ar y bws gyda hi i Ddinbych a Rhuthun a threilio amser yn sioeau Llangwm a Cerrigydrudion gyda hi, Yncl Irwyn a'r hogia'.
Dydd Llun, mi fydd hi'n ddwy flynedd union ers i mi golli'n nhad ac yna bore dydd Mawrth byddwn yn claddu Anti Jini...mae'r bylchau sydd yn agor wrth i'r pobol a'm "siapiodd" ni ein gadael yn enfawr, ac yn sicr bydd bwlch mawr ar ol Anti Jini, yn enwedig i Yncl Irwyn, Iwan, Arwel a'u plant. Diolch amdani ac diolch am yr atgofion melys o'r dyddiau hynny yn Llangwm yn ei chwmni.
